Getting around
Airports
Augusta Regional (AGS) is small and books out far in advance for tournament week. Atlanta (ATL) is roughly a 2.5 hour drive and is the usual alternative. Columbia, South Carolina (CAE) is a further option at around 90 minutes.
Local transit
Augusta is a driving city with no meaningful transit for visitors. Tournament week runs shuttles and controlled parking around the course. A rental car is close to essential unless you are staying within walking distance of Washington Road.

Accommodation in Augusta during tournament week is limited and priced far above normal. Booking a house rental or staying in a surrounding town is standard practice rather than a fallback.

Practice-round access and tournament-round access are entirely different tickets with different availability. Know which one you have before planning the day around it.

Outside tournament week, Augusta is a quiet river town and the course is not open to the public. Plan the trip around the event or not at all.

Planning Augusta
- Private home rentals are the dominant accommodation type during tournament week and are frequently booked a year ahead.
- Consider Aiken, South Carolina or the Evans and Martinez suburbs if Augusta itself is fully booked or overpriced.
- Fly into Atlanta and drive if Augusta Regional is unavailable or unreasonably priced.
- Mobile phones are not permitted on the course during tournament rounds. Agree meeting points with your group beforehand.
