Getting around
Airports
Vancouver International (YVR) connects to downtown in about 26 minutes on the SkyTrain Canada Line. It is one of the simplest airport transfers on the continent and needs no advance booking.
Local transit
SkyTrain is driverless, frequent, and covers the airport, downtown, and the eastern suburbs. BC Place and Rogers Arena sit beside Stadium-Chinatown station and are walkable from most downtown hotels.

Friday
Base downtown or in Yaletown. BC Place and Rogers Arena sit next to each other at the edge of downtown and both are walkable from most central hotels.

Saturday
Take the SkyTrain to the stadium district, then Gastown afterwards for bars within walking distance of both venues.

Sunday
Stanley Park seawall in the morning, Granville Island for lunch, then the Canada Line straight to the airport in about 25 minutes.
Practical travel tips
Planning Vancouver
- Downtown Vancouver is small enough that a stadium-adjacent hotel is realistic, which is unusual for a major host city.
- The Canada Line from YVR adds a small surcharge on trips originating at the airport. Trips into the airport do not carry it.
- Rain is the default from October through March. Waterproof layers matter more than heavy insulation.
- Cross-border visitors should confirm entry documentation ahead of travel, including for connecting flights.
