The complications are timing rather than logistics: Spanish kickoffs run late, and league fixture dates are confirmed only a few weeks ahead and can move for broadcast. Book flexible flights, not a fixed weekend built around a provisional date.
Getting to Santiago Bernabéu

Santiago Bernabéu station on Metro Line 10 opens directly outside the stadium. Nuevos Ministerios, two stops south, connects Lines 6, 8, and 10 plus Cercanías commuter rail, and is a useful fallback when the crowd at Bernabéu station backs up after full time. Line 8 runs to the airport in about 25 minutes with one change.

Where fans go before and after
- Calle Padre Damián, directly behind the north stand and the main pre-match bar strip
- Plaza de Lima, terraces packed from about two hours before kickoff
- Salamanca, twenty minutes on foot with the best restaurants near the ground
- Calle Ponzano in Chamberí, the best food and drink street within one Metro ride
Plan around this
- A 21:00 kickoff means leaving the ground close to 23:00. Check that your onward transport still runs.
- League fixture dates and times are confirmed only weeks in advance. Treat any earlier date as provisional.
- Bernabéu station backs up badly after a full house. Walking ten minutes south to Nuevos Ministerios is usually faster.
- Bag size limits are enforced at the gates. Leave anything larger than a small shoulder bag behind.
