Augusta is a small city absorbing an enormous event. Accommodation is dominated by private home rentals rather than hotels, and many visitors base themselves in Augusta suburbs or drive in from further out.
Fan experience
Practice round days are the most accessible way in and allow course access that tournament days do not. Phones are not permitted on the grounds, which is part of the appeal for many attendees.

Augusta
Augusta is a driving city with no meaningful transit for visitors. Tournament week runs shuttles and controlled parking around the course. A rental car is close to essential unless you are staying within walking distance of Washington Road.
