New York / New Jersey
The subway runs 24 hours and reaches almost every venue in the city. The two exceptions matter: MetLife Stadium requires NJ Transit from Penn Station with a change at Secaucus, and it gets extremely congested after events. Flushing Meadows is served by the 7 train and the LIRR.

How do you get to the US Open from Manhattan?+
The 7 train to Mets-Willets Point is the standard route and runs express during the tournament. The LIRR from Penn Station to Mets-Willets Point is faster but runs less frequently. Allow extra time for the walk from the station to the gates.
Is a grounds pass worth it?+
In the first week, yes. A grounds pass gets you every court except Arthur Ashe, which is where most early-round matches involving top players are actually played. From the quarter-finals onward the value drops sharply.
Where should you stay for the US Open?+
Long Island City and Astoria in Queens put you close to the 7 and N/W lines at lower rates than Midtown. Midtown East works if you want Manhattan as a base and do not mind the commute.
