Weather and packing

June: Mild in San Jose and Santa Clara (highs 25–28°C / 77–82°F), but San Francisco is famously foggy and cool (highs 16–18°C / 61–64°F). The Bay Area is two climates.

July: Warm in the South Bay (27–30°C / 81–86°F). SF continues its fog season — pack layers regardless.

  • San Francisco fog is real — always bring a jacket even in July
  • Santa Clara and San Jose are warm and sunny — lighter clothes for stadium days
  • Layer for the ferry and waterfront areas around the Embarcadero
  • Sunscreen for outdoor events in the South Bay
