This is the most atmospheric ballpark in America and the least comfortable, and both facts come from the same source: it was built in 1912 into a city block and never moved. Seats are narrow, some have obstructed views, and the concourses are tight. In exchange you get a ballpark inside a real neighbourhood, walkable from Back Bay, with Lansdowne Street running along the back of the outfield wall.

Kenmore station on the Green Line B, C and D branches is a five minute walk and is the main route in. Fenway station on the D branch is a similar distance from the other side. Lansdowne commuter rail station sits directly behind the left field wall. The park is close enough to Back Bay to walk in about twenty minutes.

- Take the Green Line to Kenmore. Parking around the ballpark is scarce, expensive and slow to leave.
- Read the seat notes before buying. This is a 1912 building and obstructed views, narrow seats and support poles are real.
- April and September evening games are cold. A spring night at Fenway needs a proper coat, not a jumper.
- The stadium tour runs on game days before first pitch and is worth doing separately from the game itself.
