Tottenham Hotspur Travel Guide
Tottenham opened their current stadium in 2019 on the site of White Hart Lane, where the club had played since 1899. It was built with a retractable grass pitch sitting above an artificial surface, specifically so the venue could stage NFL games without wrecking the football pitch, and it has hosted London NFL fixtures since. The result is the most modern large stadium in British football and one of the few grounds in Europe genuinely worth visiting for the building itself.

Fan travel angle
This is the London ground that most rewards arriving early. The single-tier south stand holds around 17,500 and generates real noise, the on-site microbrewery and the food offering are far beyond normal stadium standard, and the concourses are built to be used rather than escaped from. The catch is the location: N17 is a long way north of the tourist London most visitors know, and the transport links have not caught up with the stadium.

White Hart Lane station on the Overground is a five minute walk and is the closest option, though it is small for the crowd it absorbs. Northumberland Park on National Rail is about ten minutes and is the usual pressure valve. Seven Sisters and Tottenham Hale on the Victoria line are roughly a twenty five minute walk or a short bus, and are often the quickest route back into central London after a full house.

- Tottenham High Road, directly outside the ground with the club’s own bars and food market
- Seven Sisters, two stops south on the Victoria line with more pub choice
- Walthamstow Village, a short ride east and the best evening out within reach
- Central London, since the Victoria line gets you back to Oxford Circus in about twenty minutes
Plan around this
- White Hart Lane Overground station is small and queue-managed after a full house. Seven Sisters or Tottenham Hale on the Victoria line handle the crowd far better and are a fifteen to twenty minute walk.
- The stadium is cashless throughout. Bring a card or a phone wallet, there is nowhere inside to pay with notes.
- NFL fixtures here sell through a separate process from football tickets and go on sale months earlier. If the NFL game is the trip, plan around that calendar.
- Premier League kickoff times are confirmed by broadcasters weeks out and shift regularly. A Saturday afternoon date can become a Sunday evening one.

The club runs stadium tours including a rooftop walk and a dedicated NFL-focused experience. Availability is restricted around football fixtures, NFL games and concerts, which between them fill a lot of the calendar, so book online well ahead.

Twenty clubs play 38 matches each, home and away against every other club, from August to May. There are no playoffs. The champion is whoever finishes top. The bottom three are relegated and replaced by three clubs promoted from the division below, which is why late-season fixtures at the bottom of the table can matter as much as the ones at the top.
