Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is the most technically ambitious ground built in Britain this century and the only one designed from the start to host two sports properly. A grass football pitch splits into three sections and slides away to reveal a synthetic surface underneath for NFL fixtures, with a separate set of American football locker rooms built into the basement. For a visiting fan the practical headline is the food and drink: the stadium brews its own beer on site and the concourse offering is far beyond the norm.

How it got here
The history that still shapes what you see on a visit.
Spurs played at White Hart Lane from 1899 until 2017. The new stadium was built on and around the same site, which meant a season and a half in exile at Wembley while construction finished, and it opened in April 2019. The single tier south stand was modelled on Borussia Dortmund’s Yellow Wall, and the NFL partnership was designed into the building rather than added later.

Transit summary
White Hart Lane station on the Overground is a five minute walk and is the closest option, though it is small for the crowd it absorbs. Northumberland Park on National Rail is about ten minutes and is the usual pressure valve. Seven Sisters and Tottenham Hale on the Victoria line are roughly a twenty five minute walk or a short bus, and are often the quickest route back into central London after a full house.
Parking and rideshare
The stadium operates a controlled parking zone across the surrounding residential streets on event days and there is no general public parking at the ground. Rideshare pickup points are set well back from the stadium and surge hard after NFL fixtures in particular. Walking south to Seven Sisters is frequently faster than waiting for either a train at White Hart Lane or a car.

- Seven Sisters and Turnpike Lane for Turkish and Greek Cypriot food, the best eating in the area
- Dalston and Stoke Newington, a short bus ride south, for a proper night out afterwards

The club runs a stadium tour that includes the NFL locker rooms and the pitch mechanism, plus the Dare Skywalk, a roof climb over the stadium with an optional abseil. Both need booking ahead and both are suspended around fixtures and concerts.
Practical tips
Planning a visit to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
- The stadium is entirely cashless and card or phone is the only way to pay anywhere inside.
- Arrive earlier than you would elsewhere. The concourse food and the on site brewery are part of the experience and the queues build.
- NFL London fixtures are a different day out from a league match, with earlier gates, different bag rules and a very different crowd. Plan for the event you actually have a ticket to.
- There is almost no hotel stock within walking distance. Stay central and treat the journey as part of the trip.
- Premier League kickoff times shift for broadcast and are confirmed only a few weeks out.
Bags, security and accessibility
Bag policy is strict and only small bags are admitted, with no cloakroom on site. NFL fixtures run a tighter clear bag policy than football matches and open the gates far earlier, so check which rules apply to your event rather than assuming the football standard.
