Yankee Stadium
The current Yankee Stadium opened in 2009 across the street from the original site in the South Bronx. It carries the design language of the old ballpark, including the frieze around the roofline, in a modern building with wide concourses and a large outfield concessions area. It also hosts soccer and, in winter, a college football bowl game.

Transit summary
The 4, B, and D subway lines stop at 161st Street Yankee Stadium, directly outside. Metro North runs a dedicated Yankees East 153rd Street station with game-day service from Grand Central and from Connecticut and Westchester. The subway from Midtown takes about 20 to 25 minutes.

Practical tips
Planning a visit to Yankee Stadium
- Monument Park closes roughly 45 minutes before first pitch. If you want to see it, arrive when gates open, not at game time.
- Baseball schedules are 81 home games a season, so tickets are far easier to get than for football or basketball. Weekday games are cheapest.
- Bring a layer for April and September night games. The stadium is open and the Bronx gets cold after sunset.
- The 4 train is faster than the B or D from most of Manhattan, and the express skips several stops.
