Madison Square Garden
Madison Square Garden sits directly on top of Penn Station in Midtown Manhattan, which makes it the most transit-accessible major arena in North America and one of the few where arriving by train drops you underneath the building. It is a genuinely old arena by modern standards, with steep upper tiers and tight concourses, and it hosts basketball, hockey, boxing, and concerts on a near-continuous schedule.

Penn Station is directly below the arena, served by the A, C, E, 1, 2, and 3 subway lines plus Long Island Rail Road, NJ Transit, and Amtrak. Herald Square, two blocks east, adds the B, D, F, M, N, Q, R, and W. There is effectively no reason to take a car.

- Arrive via Penn Station and you will walk up into the building. It is the single easiest arena arrival in North America.

- Event schedules stack: it is common for the arena to host different events on consecutive nights, so double-check which event your ticket is for.
- Penn Station is being rebuilt in phases. Signage and entrances change, so allow extra time on a first visit.
